About Us
Sunflower and Jasmine has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have been interested in fashion my whole life. Growing up I didn't have much, so I kept a calendar of what I wore and when I wore it, I wanted to make sure I didn't repeat my outfits to frequently. Then as an adult I began working in retail in the early 90's. I was managing stores from the time I was 18. But I always dreamed of being the one to pick all the merchandise and have my own boutique. Eventually I left retail management because of the long hours and started working in accounting. But I still spent all my free time shopping and trying to find the best deals on the latest fashion for myself and my family.
In 2017 my home burned down and I lost most of my clothing and jewelry collection that I had been accumulating my entire adult life. It was devastating. But after the initial shock wore off from the fire I realized that I could rebuild my collection and the most important thing in my life was saved - my family.
From that tragedy my boutique has been born. I took a portion of my insurance money and launched it. I initially dreamed of having my boutique and running it with my best friend. In the end I have ended up doing it alone with my best friend by my side encouraging me every step of the way. I named the boutique Sunflower because that is my favorite flower and I have always associated myself with a sunflower. And Jasmine after my best friend who has always been a softer side of me. I couldn't think of a softer and more beautiful flower then a Jasmine. And it also works out that our initials are S & J.
But most of all I am launching this boutique for my son Dylan. To show him that beauty can come from ashes. And that you should always follow your dreams - no matter how long it takes you to achieve them.
